If there’s one brand that you can always count on, it’s Bosch. For years, Bosch has been a leading name in home refrigeration, but sooner or later, you may run into some technical problems with your machine. When you do, you’ll need it repaired fast.
There are some warning signs that something might be wrong, and if you pay close enough attention, you may be able to spot the symptoms before the problem becomes too big. One thing that’ll let you know if something is wrong is the exterior of your unit. If something isn’t working correctly, you’ll notice that the outside of your Bosch will be covered with moisture. The next thing is fairly noticeable, as long as you check the floor around your unit. There could be a leak in front of your Bosch, and if there is, you know that something isn’t performing as it should. Another thing to pay attention to is the noise level of your machine. If it appears to be too noisy, or if it seems like it’s running nonstop, you may have a predicament on your hands.
1. Bosch Refrigerator not cold enough
If the refrigerator is not cold enough the condenser coils may be dirty. The condenser is like a radiator and must stay clean in order to dissipate the heat which was removed from the inside of the refrigerator. As the coils get dirtier the refrigerator becomes less efficient, which makes it work harder to cool down. If the coils are dirty enough, the unit will never be cold enough and will not be able to cool the inside of the refrigerator to the proper temperature.
2. Bosch Refrigerator water dispenser not working
If the water dispenser is not working the water pressure from the house might be too low. Water inlet valves require a minimum of 20 psi to function properly. If the pressure is good and the water filter is good, replace the water inlet valve.
3. Bosch Refrigerator ice maker not working
If the refrigerator ice maker is not working, the door switch might be defective. When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things, it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice maker and dispenser. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn’t have continuity it should be replaced.
4. Bosch Refrigerator ice dispenser not working
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working, one of the dispenser switches might be defective. The dispenser switch is activated by the dispenser actuator. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn’t have continuity it should be replaced.
5. Bosch Refrigerator not defrosting
If the refrigerator is not defrosting, the defrost timer might be defective. Several times a day the defrost timer is supposed to turn on the defrost heater to melt away any frost that may have accumulated on the freezer evaporator coils. If the timer is defective it won’t advance and won’t turn on the heater.
